I think the message of my folktale is to honor your promises and to not judge a book by it's cover. I think that is this because if the main character did not honor her promise she would not have found the perfect boyfriend, which happened to be a Prince. My story is very serious on promises and keeping them. Also because she could have just ran away from the puppy when she seen it talking but she did not, she helped him.
Because my cultural pastiche in in modern times. It is the same as the folktales meaning but has more in depth. I say this because when people see Mexicans they think bad things sometimes. They may think of them as gang bangers, or workers, similar to how they think of black people. But many Mexicans are just like all of use, especially the ones who are living well, and are middle class people like everyone else. That is the main reason why in my story the main character did not abandon the talking puppy.

" Honor Your Promises, A Promise is a Debt. "
